Very, very low-light plant suggestions

I'm in the situation of not being able to update the standard lighting for my 55gal, and only have 30watts over it. I need any suggestions of plants that will grow in these conditions. I've heard anacharis and watersprite might tolerate this. I will update my lighting eventually, but it may take a few months, so if you please, give me the names of anything that will survive this. Thanx again.

What about shop lights? For about $15 or so you could put a lot more light over the tank. The most commonly available (and least expensive) shoplights come in 48" lengths - conveniently, the same length as your tank :) A shoplight with two tubes would give you 80W, and there are quite a few plants that would do just fine under that amount of light.
If you absolutely cannot change the lighting, I'm not sure I'd invest in any plants at this point, because they may not survive. Even if they do, they won't do well - if you're upgrading in a matter of months, I'd wait till then, but it's JMO.

Floating plants would be about the only thing(water sprite etc), maybe some javafern on wood right under the light.

Tom Barr
