hi! Added 2 false perculas (tank raised) on the 15th. They have been fine although one seemed slightly more agressive.
Today, 2 weeks later, the slightly more agressive one is WAY more agressive and chasing the other one around the 13 gallon tank. Will this continue? Is he just trying to secure his dominant position? I hate to watch this and lowered the lighting thinking it may calm him down...
There are no other fish in the tank except for a tiny yellow goby that is just watching what's going on...

Any thoughts????

i'm pretty srue that colowns shouldnt be kept in the same tank, except for one type of clown... or so my LFS told me... do a little research and see what type of clowns u can have more then one in a tank... i know u cant have maroons, and tomato's in the same tank uless it's a good sized tank... but once again the LFS told me that and i believe they know what they are talking about for several reasons...but any ways... good luck with that... hope they calmdown...

No, I think 2 false perculas are fine as long as they are added together. I've had a few pairs over the years and never had a problem except for a little misbhavior now and then... Thanks though!

maybe those are the acceptions? idk, i tried to help get a positive identification to your problem... well good luck still...

Valerie,
My female ocellaris would occasionally hound the male pretty aggresively before they started spawning. I even had to move the female into a net breeder at one point. They worked it out, and now she dotes on him.
