it was about 6 months ago when i decided to get my feet wed in teh land of SPS corals and so far all i have are montiporas. i have some awsome blue digita and some green cap. i also have a medium sized elk horn coloney and a purple digita with brown polyps frag. i would like to know where are teh SPS keepers and what's your mathod of keeping your reef.

Welcome to AC! Always nice to see new reefy faces around here.

I've been keeping montipora and porites for a little over a year. All I do is make sure the Ca is close to 450 and alkalinity is above 3. Plus I feed about 2-3 times a week with a homemade coral chow. Most of the Ca and alk comes from a kalkwasser/vinegar drip, but I have to supplement with B-Ionic. I finally have all the parts for my Ca reactor, and maybe I'll find time to build it.

The digitata grow really nicely, and I have had to give frags away regularly. The capricornis grows incredibly fast, sucking down Ca like there's no tomorrow. I am having to restart the cap from a small frag, though. My colonies bleached right before moving to the new tank this summer.

I have just started with acropora. I went to pick up some stuff from a friend a few weeks ago, and he "forced" me to take home a pile of frags.
