when I bought my blackskirt tetras, I noticed one or two of them had exceptionaly shiney scales. now, after owning them for 2 or so months, all 6 have brilliantly shiney scales, they just look fantastic. I'm very happy because it means they're healthy (my water quality is good and they get a variety of good dry and fresh foods), but I thought I read a while back that very shiney fish that look better than usual may be wild caught. Is this true?

I'm not sure if that's true or not. All my blackskirts have done the same thing, and you're right, they are beautiful :)
