My platy is staying at the top of the water, not eating, staying still, and having problems keeping its balance. Recently it has had problems with balance. Tonight it is getting worse. Pleas help me. Is there any meds I can give her to help? I do not want to lose her.

Also my dalmatian molly is staying at the top and being still but she still eats and has no problem with balance.

Hey Mayreee, sorry to hear about your platy. How old is the fish? I've found that my platys don't live very long (<2 years) and I think it may be because these fish are hopelessly, unbelievably inbred (to achieve the beautiful colours and fin variations and then keep them from one generation to the next).
If all the water parameters are fine and nothing has changed, I think the best thing to do for now is observe. If s/he shows any definite signs of disease, treat accordingly, but I wouldn't medicate without knowing exactly what's wrong.

Thanks Blinky. At first I couldn't accept it but now I am realizig I have to :sad . This is the part I hate. It makes me want to get rid of all my fish right now because I could never handle stuff like this. It was the worst day of my life when my dog died and now this is starting to bother me. Oh well... life goes on.
