Hi guys has anyone ever used the jungle labs fizz factory. I just upgraded my lights on my 90 gallon to just under 3 watts a gallon (260 coralife 4x65). If I used the fiz factory (supposidly good good for 40 gallons) and excel. Would that be ok. Opinoins are always welcome. Also thanks to everyone in these forums. I have been doing searches and reading like a crazy man. I am new here (about 1 week) and have learned a ton!!!!

I honestly don't think the Fizz Factory will do a thing in a tank that size. Your best bet would be a pressurized system, but if you prefer DIY I'd go with a series of 2L bottles with a yeast/sugar mix - it releases CO2 continually, whereas the FF will need to be refilled constantly in a large tank.

If I had to go with any of the CO2 systems out there, I would get the hagen one. That way you could experiment with the DIY method and you could eventually replace the cansister that is provided with 2-3, 2liter bottles and use the ladder if you wanted. Eventualy, throw out the ladder and put the CO2 into your intake of your canister filter.
It will be a good way to get fimiliar with the whole process and gain confidence dealing with DIY CO2 method.

Pressurized costs

You can get a pressurized system for $200 or so, better if you shop carefully.

All-in-One type dual guage regulator + solenoid + bubble counter + needle valve (Milwaukie or JBJ) ~ $90 maybe less now

Co2 proof tubing ~ $10 (may substitute here)

10 lb tank of CO2 ~ $75 (not new, not aluminum, local welding shop or similar)

Your choice of reactor --- DIY reactor ~ $15 (with Rio 50 water pump and plastic jar), or find other plans online for external types, or just feed into a Hagen ladder ~ $12, or an Eheim diffueser ~$18

Thanks for your input. I think I am going to try the excell and then go with compressed CO2 eventually. I have been calling around and checking Ebay. Best deal I could find so far. In the neighborhood $65 plus tax for 5# filled. Online (ebay) $75 for an empty 10# plus $10 for shipping. I think for the extra $10 or so I should go with the 10#. Regulator I found a JBJ for $88. So it should run me around $200. Just like you said anonapersona. I have been doing a lot of research on reactors. I think I am going to design one. Fun Stuff.

Id suggest you go with the Milwaukee over the JBJ, because i hear they are more realiable. I ordered the Milwaukee my self because of its good rep and cheaper price!
