Hi you guys might remember me I am the kid who wants to setup a Amazon Acid Pool Biotope Tank. Well I have been planning, read almost every book out of my library on the fish I plan to keep and the habitat they live in. I was thinking of getting this filter: (See Link) http://www.petsmart.com/global/prod...>cnt_id=10134198673267337&bmUID=1107651811811

It is a power filter, now I was wondering how I could make it so I could have a hood with a light on the top. I have been trying to figure this out...

Can you guys help (Thanks :D )

Easy

Every hood that is sold for fish tanks has a way to use it with a hang-on-back filter. Some will have a groove in the back section that you trim with scissors -- cheap hoods at Walmart for example. Some will have a flexible strip that you trim with scissors -- like the Perfecto hoods at Petsmart for example. Both of these will have a light fixture as part of the hood. Or you can get a glass top which has that same flexible strip to cut as you need, and then you add your own choice of light strips. The flexible strip is nice because you can buy a new one if you change equipment.

You might find your way to DrsFosterSmith.com or BigAlsOnline.com or PetSolutions.com or ThatPetPlace.com to see what they have in the way of hoods and strip lights. Or just order a catalog from them from the website, something nice to curl up with at night to learn about what is available out there.
