So I am moving in a month or so, and after that I believe I should be pretty stable for a long while... so I am thinking of finally trying my hand at the SW tank I've been dreaming of for years.

What is a "nice" size tank... space no real object. Picturing like 6 or 8 feet long... what sizes would that bring me into? How big is a 125? 175? Does the cost gro incrementally too, or does it plateau some?

Open-ended, I know but just wanted some more experienced input.

what ever the biggest you want to go with is the best size tank. I think that once every thing equipment wise is set up the cost levels off with just monthly or weekly maintaince.

125, standard size: 6 foot, by 18 inches by 24 inches. I prefer the tanks with more front to back depth--120, 150, 180 style. I like this ratio better, and it gives more surface area/gallons. Bigger is easier, both in setting up and stocking. But, it's still worth it to look at fish and inverts, and see what you want to keep. If you only want a pair of clowns and no corals, there's no reason to go with a huge tank.
