Last night at around 9:00 p.m. my Filstar XP3 started to make a vary loud grinding noise so I rushed down to the tank but by the time I got down there my GFCI had been triggered so I unplugged the Filstar and tried to reset the GFCI but it wouldn’t reset, it was locked in the tripped position. So I ran a power cord to another circuit to give power to the tank and went to bed.
Now, this morning I’ve tried everything to get the GFCI to reset. I’ve turned off the main power, taken the GFCI out and checked the wiring all of which looks perfect. Why can’t I get the GFCI to reset? I’ve tested it several times before and every time I’ve been able to simply press the reset button and everything comes back on. I just installed this GFCI about three months ago so it’s fairly new and it was the most expensive one that my local home center carried (A Leviton 8898) Do you have any tips on how I can get it to reset or do I have to replace it?
Thanks, Jeremy
