If you were to paint the back of your tank, what color would it be?

I use mirrors as my backgrounds. I get them cut to size at a local glass place.

It adds to the depth of the tank and keeps my cichlids in full color because they are always on the lookout and challenging their reflections entering their territories.

It should depend, IMO, on your decor, fish, type of tank and general impression you want to create. If you want to actually paint it (which makes it a pain to remove) I would say black simply because it matches most everything.

But I voted "other."

My 10 and 29 are black and my 75 is blue. Only reason I used blue for the 75 is because of my black veil angel. He would be hard to see against a black background. I like the look of black better though, I think.

I would paint my background black, but that's because my intake tubes are black and I'd like them to blend in as much as possible. As it stands now, my background is cardboard brown because it's, well, cardboard. I keep meaning to buy a darn black posterboard and I keep forgetting!

Thank you all for your input. I have come to the conclusion that I'm going to buy some black poster board. Then if I like how that looks, go ahead and paint.
