I bought some cories recently and I cant figure what type they really are! My LFS didnt have them marked and they look like they could be any of the following types Saofrancisco, Nordestinho, flaveolus, Garbei.
They are grey with black patches with a green sheen to their scales
here are some pics.

Spotted cories...? Thats what one of the LFS's here calls them I think.
I don't know the "proper name" though.

I think that is just a common name for a few different species though.
Well it was a guess :p hehe

Appreciate it, thanks!
I wish I knew more about Cories. This is only the third or fourth batch I have ever owned and I have only ever had Pandas and Albinos before. So i figured I would get some that I have never kept before.

Youv'e got youself some Corydoras paleatus, aka peppered cory. One of the two most commonly kept species (other is aneaus) they are very hardy and easy to breed as well. Your aren't going to find any of the others you listed in a lfs.

Yeah I believe you are right, thanks alot. I forgot to write that one as one of the options in my first post.
Karnaaj, my LFS frequently get Garbei and flaveolus, that was why I thought that thats what they may have been. The other two just look similar from photos I have seen.

I've got 3 of the paleatus corys, they're great fish. Very active.

You are lucky labont, those are very hard to find fish. How much is your lfs asking for them? I would think an arm and a leg.

Last time I saw the garbei I think they were 15$ a piece. About three times the amount I paid for mine. I dont remember how much they charged for the flaveolous.

those are sooo cute!! I may have to find some when I get a bigger tank. I already have 7 and the tank is definately maxed out!! My LFS usually only has green, julis, and albino. Oh well, I'm officially jealous!!

By the sounds of some of these posts you should breed them and sell! :)

If they breed I'll sell em for sure. I have 3 that have been together their whole lives.
