Emperor 400 - Impellar module

I recently purchased an used Emperor 400. When I tried to install it last night, the impellar (sp?) module began to rattle violently when I plugged in the filter. I looked in the manual several times and the part looked just like the picture, but when I put it in, it rests in there rather loosely.

Any suggestions?

let it run for about a minute, it was probably sucking the air out of the overflow tube.

Both of my 400's always sound like that when they are low on water. Scoop some water out of the tank and pour in the filter. Like the other poster said, they will fill up and quiet down on their own but pouring water in speeds it up.

Do they still rattle when they are full of water?

If you are talking about what I think you are you need to push the impeller up into the little hole in the "flow manifold".
