Hi. I have been looking for an answer to my question all over the internet and I am having problem finding any answers for it. I was wondering if anyone know if it is necessary to quarantine ghost shrimps. If so, how do I go about quaranting them without killing them. Also, I will be getting some live plants so, I will be disinfecting them with Clear Water (which has potassium Permangnate). If I treat the plants with this, do I also have to quarantine the plants? I am mainly worried about ich and snails although I doubt you would get them from treated plants. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

You guys know how you could quarantine shrimps?
Have you tried a quarantine tank perchance? That's what most folks use, their standard QT/Hospital tank. Lots of folks use a cycled ten gallon, some use bigger, some use smaller.

I think he is referring to the fact many people have trouble keeping them alive for long at all with out huge die offs ie buy 20 and have 5 to use as feeders etc. After proper qt of the tank.

I think it has to do with the temperature pertaining to shipping conditions because one of hte shops here won't order them during part of the year. I just know a lot of people at different times said they are hard to keep helathy I did well except mine were eaten rather quickly by the tiger barbs.

SOrry for the confusion. but what I am refering is the method to keep shrimp from fish germ free. I had a horrible runins with Ich and I am afraid of other parasites could be carried into the tank because of the shrimps.

hmm, my shrimp can live ifne in an unheated tank... after all, they can be found in alaska!
