Hi guys, new here and hoping you can help.

I just set up a 44 gal Marine aquarium. Added water, salt, live rock and crushed coral. That was about 5 hours ago and the tank is still very cloudy.

Is this normal??? How long until this clears up??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Darryl

Did you do all of this in one day? the salt water needs to be circulated for a while before adding to tank. sometimes it takes a little while for the salts and elements to get blended in with the water and can be cloudy for a while depending on flow(mins to hours).if you just added the crushed coral it has a lot of small coral pieces(like powder) that will take a while to get either filtered or settle out depending on flow and filtration but you should see and improvement by morning. let the tank cycle with the liverock if it is not cured check your amonia levels to assess the curing.
any questions post.

You dumped it all in at the same time? I can bet that you're tank is a tad cloudy!

It will clear up in a day or two, depending on water flow.
