this is a question for all the goldfish lovers out there. I have a pearlscale goldfish, and he is kind of small (maybe 1.5inch long body). i have had him for about 6 months and he has always been that size. I was wondering if any one knows of any special foods/ anything else that will help this guy get a little size on him. If it matters any... he is in a 33 gal with 7 cory catfish (planning on getting him a pearlscale buddy as soon as i can find one) water parameters are OK, he eats flakes and bloodworms (and nibbles off his plants...) any more questions about his living conditions, just ask. but i hope i can get him to maybe at least 4 inches long if it isnt something like genetics making him stay small...

when im making my fish grow i feed them several times a day and change the water daily. goldfish should grow really fast. whats your water temp? they have hi growth food for koi/goldfish crumble some up for him.

I use bio-blend for goldfish (pellets) and my guys have grown astronomically quick..... a suggestion though is that the cories be separated from that tank as the GF grows bigger as he may try to gobble them up, causing him and the cory to go to the fishy-sky. You have a while before he gets that big evidently so that is just for your reference in the furture.

wow... i hope they dont get big enough to eat 2.5 inch cories... if they do i might need a pond. my tank is just above room temp (maybe +1 above, that tank is in a smaller room with a desert terrium for my beardies)

Water changes should do the trick! Changing the water gets rid of a hormone that fish release that retards growth. Water changes get rid of that hormone plus gives your fish good clean water to swim in!
