View Full Version : Kulhi behavior odd?
I have 4 kuhli loaches (black) in my 18g, and for the last 24 hours, 2 of them have been swimming in a big loop on the side of the glass. Is this normal? Until recently, they just hid and came out at feeding time and night.
Swimming.

With kuhlies its hard to tell. To be on the safe side you might want to do a water change.
dont know if this matters at all, but, i did almost a 50% water change 4 days ago...

There are some kuhli that hid all day. And there are some that are showy like that (from what i read). I got 2 kuhli and at first only 1 was like that. He'll just swim in a rollercoaster motion at the front of the glass. Now the other one joins in with him swiming up and down all freaken day. I've never heard of one that hids all the time turning into one that is showy. I'm sure it's fine tho, throw him a coming out of the closet party.

i reacon your coolies are breeding. With recent advances in fish husbandry techniques, spawning these brilliant fish is not uncommon. They are egg scatterers, with their eggs floating. The eggs are bright green. The fact that you did a 50% water change to me is the main spawning cue. (immitation the monsoon season)
Wow, thanx for all your help! If they bred, that would be awesome!
