Time to start thinking about what kind of fish....

I'm getting ready to start up a 55g tank. Once I get it cycled I was trying to think of what kind of fish I want. I like angels and gouramis. I'll probably get a pleco and a cat for scavengers. Any other ideas...

Be sure to get a smaller pleco. A common can outgrow the 55. A fwe angels and some gouramis may work. Some larger schooling fish may be nice. Nothing aggressive or nippy of course. Are you planting this tank or will you be using manufactured decorations?
 
I haven't decided. I'm wondering about lighting. I work night, my wife works days. the tank will be in our room. Worried about live plants getting enough light. I'll leave the light on during the day. It won't bother me.

I need to post something in the plant forum.
