I just got my new 75 gallon tank, it has 2 bala sharks, (1 about 7in and and another about 10in) 1 angel, 2 silver dollars, 1 rose barb, 2 long skirt tetras, 1 massive pleco, and two other small tetras that i had to take from the previous owner.
I want to restock this tank to my liking. My lfs will take/trade almost all my fish, and i can move some of the smaller ones to my 10 gallon.
Anyway i would like to know what some of you guys think the prettiest or most fun to have fish that would suit my tank. I like all sizes and types. Ive seen some cichlids i like but none that REALLY stick out as far as boldness of color.
Just some suggestions would be nice to get my research kickstarted.

Well, I would have said cichlids, but if you don't like the colors of those....

How about fancy guppies? I know they're small for a 75 gal, but they are beautiful. Maybe a guppie/swordtail/molly tank?

The only thing more beautiful than cichlids is a salt water setup, IMHO.

A large shoal of cardinals or rainbowfish. Some corys or loaches. A gourami for a showy fish. Your options are quite large so take your time and find something right the first time. You'll get a lot of good suggestions coming your way...

I'd say glossolepsis incisus. (red rainbowfish) As reverix says, rainbowfish.

I saw my red rainbow put on his color last night when I added 2 new (flagfish) to the tank. It was truly beautiful. They do that at mating times. He was checking out the new additions and showing off for them lol.

A school of these would look super.

I know you stated that you don't like the colors of the cichlids that you have seen but have you seen the black belted or the three spot. They are very colorfully. then you have hybrids like the flowerhorns and the blood parrots that have lots of color. The flowerhorn you could have one maybe two in the 75g tank. If you still don't like those then a tank full of fancy tail guppies looks great. :dance

I havent ruled out the possibility of doing a saltwater setup, the saltwater fish ive seen are beautiful, but it seems like a lot of work.

So i did an image search of cichlids and did find some interesting ones, like the electric blue cichlid, i really like that one, and some striped ones that i dont know the name of. The problem is going to be finding all the specific ones i guess.

Killifish are very pretty, you could do a very nice Killifish tank.
