I have got through loads of turbo snails. The first batch of ten died (apart from 1) along with my entire stock of invertibrates ( i put this down to some finger coral i added that sent my ph crazy) I sorted the tank but the next batch died a death followed by the next. Hermit crabs now seem to survive but my latest batch of 5 super turbos seem to be following the others. I do have the one "ultimate warrior" snail who is still going strong from the very first batch.Help i'm loosing faith and its costing me a packet. :(

How long were they acclimated? According to the recommendation of wholesalers, and "experts" like Ron Shimek, they should be acclimated for several hours or they will die over the course of a few weeks or months. The source is very important too. A batch I bought from the LFS croaked pretty quickly, while some I got from Dr Mac at about the same time all did great.

Astraeas, conchs and nassarius don't seem to be as sensitive, at least in my hands.

the first batch were acclimatsed as recommended by the aquatics wholesaler, this was 20 mins for temp then 10 mins adding water every couple. a couple of batches have been only given 20 mins for temp. i,ll try giving them longer. thinking about it i have heard this before. thanks.

Or you could place your snails at the top of your water holding them till they attach. It only takes a sec or 2. Let them acclimate themselves.
