Hey guys. :D

I was just wondering...Is it alright to store water (for a short period) that is already mixed w/ the salt? I figure it might be a good idea to have some on hand. Lemme' know what ya think. ;)
Thanks Nem0

I don't know how long your talking about storing water or water that is pre-mixed with salt, but I store water for about a week that has been pre conditioned as well as mixed with salt.

I'm not talking about a very lengthy amount of time. Probably like you, about a week or week and half at max. I figured that would save time when water changes come around. Just didn't know if it would go bad w/ salt in it. Just wanted to be safe! :D

I just make sure to shake or stir it up after it has been sitting for any period of time. To remix the salt and conditioner just in case it would settle to the bottom.

A lot of people keep a supply of SW on hand in a garbage can. Just mix, throw in a powerhead (heater if needed) and use it when you want.

just store it in a box with a lid away from sunlight and it will be ok. I get my water from the ocean and I store it in the box I get the water in. I keep it in the garage and when I do water changes I just stir it and cuck it in the aquarium. Works great. There is some sientific explanation as to why you can store salt water for periods of time and the salt has something to do with it. DON'T grt a power head and a heater in there, thats a waste of money!
