Clean Up Crew

Hi everyone,
My tank is cycling at the moment and I think it is almost done! My ammonia is 0 but my nitrite is about 2. When can I put my clean up crew in?? what are the best snails? are trocherus snails good?? what else whould I have??, the tank is a 50g with 16kg live rock and 10kg base rock.

I'd wait until your nitrite goes to 0. There's not much evidence that nitrite hurts marine creatures, but it's best to wait until things stabilize. Or stabilise, depending where you are.

My favorite snails are:
Astraeas: workhorses, easy to find, generally thrive;
Turbos: eat a ton, may be a little more sensitive, get big;
Trochus: excellent grazers;
Nassarius, fighting conchs and queen conchs are great for the sand bed.

I also like a small population of scarlet hermits, and serpent star or two.
