Due to constraints with my stand (I know, I can't believe it either), I've had to scrap my DIY plans for a sump on my new 110 gallon tank which should be here on Saturday.

Now, with a fish only with live rock set-up, am I going to be able to get away with Remora HOB skimmer with preskimmer box, 1.5lbs of live rock per gallon, dsb, and a bunch of MaxiJets for water movement? Should I invest in a hang on back filter just for extra gas exchange? Will the Remora be enough? The 110gal is only 48x18 so I'm concerned with low surface area without a sump.

I just haven't seen a lot of people running tanks this size without a sump and I want to make sure it is doable.

Really getting nervous now that the delivery date is so close. Need advice so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Tunze makes in-tank skimmers (see here). I haven't seen many reviews, but Tunze is a very reputable company. Just something to consider, because they don't require a sump and they have models for your tank size.
