Looks like you got your rock from the gulf :D The coral is cladocora arbuscula, or tube coral. It's very adaptable, being able to be photosynthetic in well-lit environments, or living off food if it's in a dark area. I have seen mine eat anything that sticks to the tentacles: flake food, formula 1 frozen food, coral heaven (from IPSF), but don't target feed it. I have had a few colonies grow from one or two polyps to golfball size.

How much light have you got?

BTW, nice photo of a healthy-looking coral.

The one next to the coral is a tunicate. They are pretty cool little critters to and have spread around in my reef . They aren't invasive ,"or haven't been in my tank", just one here and there. I know you were asking about the coral but, IMO they are just as neat.
