I'm just wondering where you keep your aquariums? I have had them in my bedroom, but it became very humid so I moved them. I keep one in the living room and one in the basement. The only trouble with the one in the baseemnt is the evaporation. But it still isn't so bad.

Has anyone ever kept an aquarium in the garage? I wouldn't think that the standard heater can keep up with air temps in the 20's where I live. Just wondering if anyone has tried it. I suppose it would work for the summer.

My tanks are in the garage...but I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and its pretty mild in the winters..down to the 30's once in a while. If you have several tanks, the room will be warmer. Also, I added insulation and sheetrock to the garage.

Currently I have
10 gal in the kitchen
20 gal in the living room
33 gal in the dining room
50 gal on the kitchen table (yes honey ill move it soon  )

The 33 and 50 will be moved to the living room once there stands are complete.

i kept some in the garage heater was on a lot even though i had it insulated with styrafoam and im in san diego. my tanks are everywhere, patio, living room, kitchen, bedroom, hallway even the spare bathroom. then i got the spares in the shed, bathtub, closet more in the garage. my pet stuff is everywhere i have room.

I have one in the kitchen, three in the bedroom, and two in the livingroom (soon to be three). Adding more all the time - pretty soon I'll have to start filling up the basement!

There's a fella who is a partner in one of the LFS"s here who had a garage full of tanks. He had started keeping fish when he was 12. One of his friends convinced him to start up his own business and now they own one of the best places to go for aquarium information in the area. He really knows his stuff ! They're prices are a bit higher than the local large chain stores, being they are a smaller aquarium specific business, but it's worth it because when you go there with a question you can be sure of an intelligent answer.

Oh...I'm in New England...gets pretty cold here, I don't know how he kept things warm...he has some truly AWSOME marine tanks !

i have a 55 gallon in my room along with a 10 gallon bowfront on my desk. i just bought some baby jack dempseys to put in it yesterday! :dance my first dempseys!

I've got a 65g in my living room, and a 14g & 10g in the bedroom. I'm in Toronto, so even if we had a garage (we don't, we live in a highrise) it wouldn't be an option - the temperature goes down to -20C here sometimes :)
