Has anyone noticed ill effects to fish in regards to loud music close to fish ?
Music is my second hobby and I like it loud! I have 1000 amp surround system in livingroom near to future location of 110 gallon tank? If this will stress out fish, then I will need to look at other locations such as bedroom.

Thanks for your input...

The vibration may be bothersome to the fish. I play music near my fish, but we're only talking about enough volume to be heard throughout my house, not a 1000 watt system that can be heard at my neighbor's house, three doors down. I think you'd simply have to observe the fish and see how they do.

if you play it loud enough they will be in suspended animation...
and freeze

maybe they're just rocking out

or maybe not

(sorry i'm bored at work)

they should b fine i play drums right next to my tank and the fish dont even flinch

Thanks for all your input.... I don't have the liberty of cranking up the volume and checking the fish as the tank ain't up yet.... This tank is still in the 'planning' stages and I am trying to think of everything so I don't run into any trouble. If push comes to show I will have to think about leaving the volume at lower levels. :dance

Thanks again.. Everybody have a super weekend !

It can blow their tiny eardrums and then they wont swim wight.

I've read in a scientific journal that loud noises (i.e. music) can cause liver damage to fish over prolonged periods. I can't find anything about this on the internet, though. I'd play it safe and wear headphones--or don't listen to the music so loud.
