80g, needs work, make an offer (CA pick-up) *56K warning*

Located in West Covina, California

I've got an eighty gallon glass aquarium, 62"L, 2'H, 14"W.

It needs work though; the center brace (glass) which supports hoods or glass lids, is falling off from the front (the silicone came off), so that will need to be re-sealed with silicone. I have two Eclipse 3 hoods on it, which takes two 24" flourescent tubes each, but on one of the hoods, only one light works, both work on the other.

This aquarium will come with a black wood stand, but the front was scratched when being moved, so it needs to be repainted. The aquarium doesn't have any scratches.

Basically, this is an aquarium for someone who will enjoy working on it to turn it into a nice setup, and it's also a value purchase.

I paid $250 for it used, but I'm letting whoever's interested make an offer. I would like $100, but I can go lower.

If you would like to trade something for it, I could use (new or used, as long as it works fine):
an AC500
powerheads
canister filter (basically any filtration equip. for large tanks)
nice pieces of driftwood
empty 30g glass aquarium
I'm not looking for all of these things for the 80g, just whatever you don't need or feel is an equal trade.

One last note, it's for pick-up only, drive from as far away or as close as you'd like to pick it up.

Oh this is SO tempting. my parents will kill me... so cheap... we will see. please email me pictures: laurenpearce@gmail.com I'm local, pick up won't be a problem. Do you happen to know the watage of the lights?

I have two Maxijet 600 powerheads at home that I am willing to trade.

Not sure on the wattage, they're t8 bulbs though. Sorry I can't be more specific. If it's easier, I can just post the pics in this thread right now when I take them (about an hour for the battery to charge), that way the both of you can take a look.

that works fine for me. It should say on the ballast what wattage they take. If you could please see if you can find out.

If they are typical 24" Florecent bulbs they are 20 watts each. so that is 1wpg with those lights. And don't buy this tank i'm trying to convince my parents it would make the perfect 22nd birthday present for next friday for me ;)

Alright, finally got all the pics needed, so here they are:

1)Here is a full shot of the 80g, that's a 10g for comparison (6g on the floor)

2)This is the brace which lost the silicone in front so that needs to be repaired, I'm holding up the hoods and the brace with an incense holder

3)Both hoods (Eclipse 3's) have two doors, one for the lights, and one for the filter. But honestly, I wouldn't use these hoods, it would be better to get glass tops and either canister, or HOB filters.

4)You can see the one outlet that doesn't work, thus it has no bulb. The bulbs it uses are 20w BTW.

5)Scratches on front of base

They're not really too noticeable, unless the tank will be in a very well lit room.

6)Water damage on right side of base

7)Water spots on the inside of the doors (all of which open and close, but some rubber stoppers should be added because when the doors close, they slam and it makes the fish stress.)

8) Just the ballast (1 for each hood, but again, I wouldn't use these hoods)

Well, that's the tank in detail. Obviously it needs some work, but what it needs, really isn't that hard to do (i'm upgrading to a 180, that's why I didn't get around to repairing this one).

If you're still interested in the aquarium, throw a price at me, or a trade, and we'll work something out in your favor. Thanks,

Serg
(Sorry for the obese post )

I really want the tank, but with school right now, it would just sit in storage until I could set it up. It pains me to say it, but you have first dibs on the tank. I'd rather see it get set up, than sit in our storage facility for a year or two. :sad Happy Birthday.
