Today I was checking out my tank, As I do everyday and I noticed these little white bugs on the glass. I mean tiny things that at first glance look like grains of sand but I then notice they are moving. There are a ton of them. From what I have read they could be Daphnia. Does that sound correct? I have had my tank for about 5 years and never noticed these before. I am not even sure if this is sometihing that is found in Salt water. Need I worry?
Thanks

No they are probably pods. They are usually a good thing basis for food chain in your tank.

so what would be the reason that I haven't seen them for five years?? Actually I just finally raised my ph to 8.3 but other than that I haven't changed anything....

you probably just haven't noticed them b/4 they're little guys about the size of a (.) ? That's probably what they are . The ph unless it was really low wouldn't have hurt them though have you introduced any new fish or l.r. lately?

I introduced the clown yesterday...

it was a while before i noticed pods when i set my tank up, but they were there. I have nothing eating them in mine and they're flourishing.

and that is a good thing right?
