I have a 20 g tank with 7 corys and about 10 guppies. i was just doing a water change and i unplugged the filter. after I got the tank all filled up, i plugged it back in and nothing happened. I cant get it to work at all. I can't pick up a filter until tommorow afternoon. should everything be alright until then?

My old whisper did that every time I turned it off. If there is nothing in there stuck just use something small to move the impeller a little should start right up.

it happens to me all the time. once i even bought another filter, but then one month later, i tried the old one again and it was working. i had the impression that there was air inside the motor, so now, what i do is take the filter out of the tank completely and set it up back again. fill it with water from the tank and then turn it on. it works for me.

Happened to me too with my aquaclear 200, I panicked and ran out to get another and as I was walking in, I could hear buzzing from it. I put in the water and it worked just fine!! Orion Girl mentioned using a chop stick or something to clean out the gunk in there every so often. Lucky for this forum eh? :)

HAHAHAH!!! the same thing JUST happened to me!i accidently unplugged it insteado f my lamp and had to get it going again. i just cleaned my impeller but the sob'in whisper is running loudly for some reason all of a sudden. guess i will take it off tommorow am and investigate what could be the reason for this rumble of a hum coming from the moter.
