How large do these plants get anyways. from what ive ready, 15-25 cm's, but different people say different things. How big have the gotten in your tank?
Also, is there a smaller variety of a simular looking plant?

Mine have been in my tank for going on their fourth month. They are at the bottom right hand in the photo under the link in my sig. Mine are staying rather low to the substrate and I have recently pulled them farther apart as they were sort of meeting in the middle.
C. wendtii is one of the most variable crypts, many many cultivars, and even from one cv you can different forms in different tanks.

It is always hard to tell which one of these you actually have.

One of these, most likely.

Mine were a normal green when I bought them... now they are red and bronze in my tank.Mine did the same thing - deep red color. I'm not sure what I was doing right, but they went nuts in my tank and crowded out my giant hairgrass. They grew up to the surface of my 10 gallon tank and then spread out. When I broke down that tank to divide up the plants for another tank, the leaves were about 12-14 inches long. And the roots had gone down under the undergravel filter and spread out about 8 inches. So in all, from leaf tips to root tips, that made them about 20" long... A feat which I now cannot repeat in the larger tank...

I've got some in my 14g that seem to have topped out around six inches high - I've had them for ages, and they multiply rapidly, but never seem to get really tall. One plant in the 14g has just a few larger leaves, looks like it may end up being about 10" (with ~6" x 1.5" leaves) or so if all the leaves reach a similar size.
I recently moved a C. wendtii 'brown' into my high light tank, and it seems to be getting larger so I'm wondering if it's partially something to do with light levels, or maybe ferts?

Hmmm I didn't mention that old tank I had was in a south facing window that got direct sun a couple hours a day. The new tank I have is in a west facing window looking at the building next door and only gets about an hour of almost-but-not-quite direct sunlight per day. The sun hits the porch outside the window but thats as far as it gets - it never hits the window directly.
