i know tis has been broguht up before. BUT, i need some dieas to build a wet dry for my 10 gallons, that is if i decied no to go with a RUGF. I like the wet dry idea. i just dont understand how to put on togethor. ALSO i will be upgradeing my tank, but not for a while. I want to build something that will work for this tank and my futture one. I was thinking of useing a pwero head for the sump or am i doing this wrong?

I would get a regular sump pump .I have a Mag Drive built by Supreme. You can always get a pump that is larger than what you need and put a gate valve on it to regulate the water return to the tank.Plus if you get a larger tank you'll already have the pump because they aren't very cheap..I have a Mag drive 7 on my 75 gal tank and still have room to use that same pump if I get a larger tank.I know 75 gal is way more than what your dealing with right now but it gives you an example.

holy crap, over kill. thaks for the idea. wouold a pwoer head work for what i want? i am looking at getting a 35 galon later.

Even a 35 gal doesn't really need a wet/dry.One of the only reasons I got a wet/dry for my 75 gal was do to the fact that I keep africans in it along with a 12" pleco, and they are all poop machines with fins,so I needed something to keep up .My filter alone holds almost 8 gal of water. If I didn't have the africans I probably would get some kind of canister filter that would do just as good.

it si going to move there via a overflow box that i am building out of plexi. The box will have a sponge fitler (prefitler) in it. I will post pictures as i go. This way everyone can see me fail :P

any idea what kind of pump i shoudl sue for this. I like the bucket idea. but not sure if i am going to use it. BUT any idea what kind of pump i shoudl use. i am looking to spend aorund 30-50 dollers CDN.

Use a mag drive 3 or 5. They can pump at a higher head than most powerheads can.
