It has been suggested to increase the water temp to speed up the lifecycle of the ICH cysts and tomites. I have one small Horseshoe crab in my 30 main tank. ( All the fish are in Copper Treated quarentine tank) Can I increase then temp to 80 or 85 degrees to get rid of the cysts and tomites an not harm the horseshoe crab ? Thanks

They prefer colder temps, about 72-78, but they can tolerate temps up to about 82 or so, I wouldn't go much higher than that.

Personally i wouldnt have a horseshoe crab in a 30gl, they can get a little over 2' long and 12" wide.

I would agree, based solely on principle, but it can take 12 years for them to get that large.

Currently the Horseshoe crab is only 2 inches in diameter, so size is not an issue. But, how is that helping me with my current problem ? I do appreciate your help thegreatpablo. Thanks

I mentioned it because if you had a bigger aquarium it would be advisable to move it to that and there wouldnt be anything to worry about when raising the temp. Odds are it will have a short life in a 30gl regardless.
