I know this is a salt water forum, but I also have a 10 gallon fresh water tank with 5 neon tetras in it. Lately I've been having problems with green algae (the kind that looks greenish-blue). I'm wondering if it is from adding too much aquarium salt. There is about a single shot glass full of aquarium salt in the tank. Just wondering if anyone has ideas on keeping that algae from forming so abundantly on my gravel. Thanks!

Naw, if anything, the salt is slowing it down. There aren't many hair algae that I've seen that like brackish water. Your best bet is to look for other problems. Nitrates and phosphates (but mainly the nitrates) will keep hair algae going on. Beware how much your feeding and how many fish you have. It's terribly easy to overdo a 10 gallon.
