i added more substrate to my tank. should i expect any variation on my water parameters? should i test the water later?

As long as you cleaned it properly before you put it in your tank you shouldn't have any problems. You added more of the existing substrate, right?
It should be fine. As long as it isent some kind of coral or chemical it shouldent change anything.
