Hi another question:
I started my tank with 4 pink zebra danios. A couple of them got real big bellies on them. 1 died unexplicably awhile ago and I've noticed some of them get bent in the middle of their bodies. (I since added 2 more zebras (blue kind) and 2 leopards.) One of the bent ones seemed to get himself straightened out a bit but a couple days ago one of my really bent pink ones (the smallest one) died. We thought mabye he was just old... Why do they get bent? I know I read a term for this somewhere but I forgot and the book didn't elaborate. Thanks.
P.S. O ya, I should mention that after I added all my other fish the pinks bellies all got small- in fact they all seemed to shrink. Now the leopards have big bellies.

First thing that comes to my find is internal bacteria parasite. One of the most common is Dropsy. One of the signs of Dropsy is concave bellies and benting their bodies like contortionist.
It would help if you post your water paramters? size of the tank?
Is the tank cycled?

I had this happen to one of my zebras about 3 weeks ago and I had a dead zebra in about 2 days..............I never figured what it was and no other fish had problems.....

If they have a bent back, then I guess that could be a sign of TB

I have also heard of a tank that had a heater failure that sent current through the water. This was apparently enough to permanently bend the spine of some fish. However, with the accompanying bloating I would lean toward dropsy or some internal parasites. I would remove the afflicted fish ASAP to a hospital tank and at least try metronidazole soaked food. Metro is pretty cheap, really, and if it saves the fish, well worth it in my opinion.

Try a titanium ground probe if stray current is your problem

ive had giant dianos, different fish but maybe similar enough to help, one was REALLY skinny when i got him (the lfs had too many of them in one tank and this one was sortuv a runt) before i beefed him up, he was sunkin in the stumache, giving him a bent appearence, if its not the spine that is bent, it could be this... are they eating?
i would guess that the lepards are eating all the food, and the pinks arn't eating as much

12 bucks? You could easily make one of these things.
