HI all
I recently brought this complete saltwater test kit from ebay :sad and all the color charts were missing. I have been trying to get some help from the merchant (who has a store foryourfish on ebay) he told me I had to contact the company to get a set. I've tried that and they don't return my calls or emails. I in the mean time have been doing the tests and comparing them to the very tiny picture on the back cover of the box. I know that I can't be very accurate that way. Does anyone else have the Saltwater Master Kit and could scan and send me all the saltwater color charts? :bowing:
A Very thankful aquarist!

I have the calcium and alk kits but there is no color code just instructions....

Calcium (from memory)

  1. fill tube to line
  2. 10 drops of solution 1
  3. shake tube and bottle two for 10 secs
  4. drip bottle two until water in tube turns from pink to purple
  5. one drop of bottle two = 20 ppm of calcium

Alk

  1. fill tube to marker
  2. drop contents of bottle (should only be one)
  3. each drop = 1 dkh
  4. When changes from blue to yellow its done.

Where are you? I think I may have some old NH3, NO2 and pH charts lying around, but my scanner is non-functional. I may try something with the camera.

I am in the VI, Virgin Islands....we don't have any LFS's so I am at the mercy of the net... I have the instructions just not the charts with which to compare them to. Any help would be wonderful. A pic would be great.....
Thanks

Here's pH (click for bigger pic):

I don't have the others anymore. One LFS just happens to have them under glass on their counter. No idea why. Maybe I'll stop by this weekend.

For the moment:
nitrite: blue = no NO2, purplish blue = some, deep purple = a lot
ammonia: yellow = none, greenish yellow = some, deep green = a lot (>1ppm)

For cycling the tank, all you need to know is that you want 0 NH3 and 0 NO2.
