Hello,

I am just looking for some feedback on my sump/refugium design in the form of opinions/comments/suggestions. I have attached before and after pictures. In the either picture, the water flows from left to right.

it looks good. why not remove the bio balls on the left side and just use a sponge? that way you can clean it easier and not have any detrius sitting there rotting on the bio balls. or just remove them totally.

Yeah, but the bio balls will be submersed in order to break up the dentrites; whereas a sponge would probably absorb the dentrites, which feed the caulerpa and mud.
