Injured Fish. Caught In Ornament. Helpppp Need Advice!

Hey all.
Havent posted here in a little bit. Havent been doin much with my tank.
However, today I just went to the fish store and picked up two algea eaters for my 20 gallon fresh water tank.
I took em home and dropped em in after letting them adjust to the water temp..

Anyway, it doesnt look like the fish are taking to the new residents all that well.

I have 4 rosey barbs, 4 bleeding hearts, and 8 neons

One of the roseys started pacing back and forth in the tank, and when I turned back around, I notcied it got completely lodged in an ornament I have.

It was jammed so hard in there, that I had to push on the front of it for it to be released...

Anyway, now the poor thing has some visible damage on the top of his head...It looks like the top layer of skin (?) might have been taken off when I was attempting to get it out... :(

Any ideas as to what I can do to make sure he heals alright?
I just added a dose of "stress coat" that claims to protect the fish...but is there anything else I can do? He's breathing pretty heavy... :(

Thanks...

well, im not gonna be too big of a help here because i dont know much about rosey barbs. but if it were in my hands, i would just let everything run its course. im pretty sure rosy barbs are pretty tough. now if he was acting sluggish or strange, i might worry that there was internal damage, but a scrape on the head should be okay. like i said, a 4" tall tinfoil that thought he could fit through a 2" pvc tube survived and healed with not one problem. he had a big scrape for about 2 weeks. i didnt add anything to the water, i just watched him and made sure to check on him at least twice a day to see if any infection would set in...... nothing though :)

Yes, there are some things you can do.

Keep the water extremely clean while it heals. The wound itself shouldn't be a problem; it is the possibility of infection that you need to watch out for. Do a few extra water changes.

I'd just do that and see how things progress. If he starts to develop some infection of some sort or another, put him in a hospital tank if you can and treat with an appropriate medication.
