It was so sad to hear of his struggle with life in the past months. At last he is at peace.
It's so interesting that this should happen on the heels of Terri Schivo's passing.

oh boy i'm soo sad to hear that the pope has passed away! :(
i went to U2 concert last night and Bono, of course, mentioned him... Beautiful and very touchy words... I became really emotional.

He was a great man, and even though I must honestly say that I didn't follow, or even necessarily really know all that he did to help change the world, I know now that he helped make a difference.. .
He'll be remembered.

I didn't follow to much in the past either, but today in the paper they had a big timeline of things he's done and stuff, and it's pretty amazing. I am glad that he managed to do so many good things with the life he was given. He will be missed.

Can't say I agreed with him on too many things. Still, even as a recovering Catholic who has pretty much renounced organized religion, I can say I'm sad to see him go. He was more than just a religous ruler, he was, within the confines of his office, a true humanitarian.
I'm with Cheech, I didn't really know much about him until of late. A truly great and Godly man who will be missed. He had no problem standing up for what is right, even if it was unpopular.
I hope his replacement is as God fearing as he was, and not a political choice.

It is good that he touched the lives of so many. Now it is time for those he touched to pick up the light and show others the good that this world does have...

Great line Ben. I have no religious belief myself and I have great respect for this man. Let's celebrate his life and legacy and carry the torch.
