tank blow out (aftermath shots)

well i heard stories and never believed it. I had a 40gal tank empty out on my basement floor(carpet). the tank was filled with water and a bit of bleach to clean it. I was away and came home to an emty tank and a wet carpet. most to of it seems to have soaked into the carpet and then onto the concrete and into the drain in the boiler room. I just finished cleaning some of it up. I feel horrible.

sorry had to vent.

Bad times. I've had tanks leak on me before, but I've never had one bust. Did the entire 40 gallons leak out or just part of it?

The tank blew out? How did it happen?

I'm sorry. That sucks.

the entire 40 gallons leaked out, the seems blew out. The bottom right corner had all the silicon rip out it was on the floor, it the pressure from the water was strong enough push the silicon piece out of the seem and out of the frame all the water got pushed out of a 2" long gap in the seem.

Your silicon must have dried out. Is this an old tank? I guess that proves bleach dissolves silicon glue.

Wow, that's awful. Sorry to hear that happened to you. I guess the only good part is that it was in the basement and didn't have any fish in it - small consolation when you're cleaning up 40g of water, I know.

there is one before shot and some i just took sorry for the bad pics but i can't get any good ones with this pos
