In my local want ad there was an ad for fish stuff....so i gave the guy a call....turns out he used to breed discus and is getting out of it as it is becomeing too much work....anyways, He is selling 2 29 gallons, 1 20 gallon, 1 15 gallon, 1 10 gallon, and 1 5 gallon tank.....and 6 heaters...8 filters....3 lights....1 airpump....and 2 bubblers.....also one of the 29s comes with 4 corys 3 otos and 18 cardinal tetras for the price of $120......I thought i was going to die when i saw this....nothing leaks....all electric stuff works....I am soooooo happy i go wednesday night to look/buy.....I'll have updates soon!!!

I think you should buy it, scrounge up all the money you have, because you can resell the stuff, make back your money and keep what you need... By the way where do you live?!?!?!

New York....my moms going to spot me the cash because it is such a great deal...luckily....I'm so excited :dance lol

:mad2 There's never stuff like that in our flyers...I know, cause I've been looking and looking for a couple of months.

Lucky ducky! :)

hey i've got a question. If i get these cardinals how will i acclimate them....I won't be getting the fish back to my house until around 8 at night... then i will need to get the tank up and running...And the man who had these used a very acidic water...they were kept with discus so obviousley....My water is extremely alkaline....close to 8....I do have reverse osmosis but at the most my system will put out 10 gallons in a day, and i need to set up a 29 gallon tank. what can i do to make acclimation as easy as possible....while being as quick as possible....it will be a scool night...

Get the tank and fill it up. Then get the heater and filter up. Let the fish sit in the water in their bag to get the temp right. Then slowly add tank water. Do this as many times as needed untill the bag is full. Then net the fish out, and let them swim off into your tank. A pH of 8 is ok for them.

honestly, I doubt you will be able to. I lost cardinals in anything over 7.8. I simply could not keep them in alkaline water. I would try the drip method for about an hour, so it is very slow. Then I would pray. Because those little guys dont' care for hard water at all.

But you lucked out on the tanks, so maybe you will on the cardinals as well.
