Hello everyone. I am offering a green spotted puffer for free to anyone that can provide an appropriate home. The puffer is approximately 2 3/4 inches long including the tail and is over a year old. I live in Toronto and this fish is available for pick up only. An appropriate home for this fish would be a brackish water tank of at least 20 gallons, and a specific gravity of 1.012 or higher. My fish is currently in a specific gravity of 1.014. Please respond here or PM me if you are interested. Thanks.

The reason I need to find another home for him is because I bought a large tank for fancy goldfish and my wife really does not want two large tanks in the apartment. She is okay if I have the large tank plus a small one(10 gallon) but I really don't want to put my puffer in a 10 gallon. So I have to let him go, to make my wife and my puffer happy. I guess a big part of marriage is compromises.

Littleprince thanks for the offer to consider taking him, but I do not want you to take him if you are not planning on keeping him. Please let me know about this person you have in mind, find out if he is interested. Thanks.

apologizing in advance to all the goldfish keepers out there.

not to be too harsh, but why would one give up the interesting appearance and wonderful personality of a puffer, for just a buncha ammonia soaked, dopy goldfish?

i suppose cost of keeping may be high on the list. i'll try not to judge.

Well lets see if I don't sound harsh. It is pointless to aplogize in advance if you are simply going to make insulting comments on ones choice of fish. Oh, and by the way I do like green spotted puffers that is why I bought one in the first place. Cost of keeping fish is not an issue for me, space is.

i am the guy littleprince is talking about.
i have a 35gal with a scat and 2 GSPuffers already.
since they get about 4-6inches and are territorial, poop-machines...
i think 3 would be pushing it :(

if my situation changes, i'll let you know.
hope you find a home for the little guy.
