Just thought I'd share this
I bought a Satellite fixture with a moonlight, and was very excited to see how the tank looked at night. Unfortunately, the centre brace completely blocks the little LED, so it's useless unless I move the fixture over, which isn't safe.
I've been planning to buy a moonlight fixture, but can't really justify the expense right now, so I came up with a temporary solution for short-term nighttime viewing.
I have a tiny clip-on lamp beside the tank which I use to see in behind the tank when I'm unplugging things, and wondered if I could use it at the top of the tank. There's nothing to clip it to, but it sits very nicely between my two light fixtures, and I've been using it every night - it sends a small shaft of light into the tank that doesn't seem to disturb the fish, and the tank looks completely different, very serene. For $7.99 at Wal-Mart, it's a pretty good solution for watching the tank for an hour or so each night
