I keep hearing bad things about the Rock Anemones.
I saw some at a pet store and they look really cool. But it seems that they are fast breeders and will over run the tank. Does anyone here have some rock anemones and are they a problem for a reef or fish tank? By the way, thank you all for your input on my 50gal. tank. It's doing great and now I have a Yellow tang and Tomato clown in the tank also. :thm:

Majano Anemones are often called rock Anemones, but are in the class of Aiptasia as a pest. Hence when you see a Rock Anemone, make sure you check the scientific name :)

Atlantic flower anemones are often referred to as rock anemone and are actually quite nice. You can tell if its an atlantic Flower flower anemone by purple dots on its underside and base....

Before you ask....They will not host a clown.

love mine.. its about 5 inches across when fully open.. it went from white at the fist store to an awesome peachy orange color under actnics it glows pastel green...

I have had it a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.. I feed it once a week or so if I think about it.. maybe a krill or earthworm... (it likes the earthworms wiggle and the earthworm is pack full of protien)

yeah atlantic flowers are really cool anemonies they are also a very good first anemone. they are just about as easy as soft corals and mine is 3 years old and no babies yet.
