I know it's stretching it a bit to post this in General Freshwater, but I really wanted to share some happy news. I've been feeling so down lately with several family members in the hospital (my grandma's having heart trouble, but she's okay, my aunt has just been diagnosed with end-stage cancer) that this couldn't have come at a better time.
A week ago I walked into my favourite LPS, ended up having a great conversation with the manager of the fish department about everything from plants to shrimp to cichlids, and it turns out that at the same time as my work schedule lightens up (I work with students, it's the semester's end and summer work is usually more scarce), they need new people. He said I could come back with a resume, and I did that today - he hired me on the spot, I was so surprised! The job doesn't pay as much as my usual work, but I'm excited all the same - I'm hoping to gain experience with things like SW and types of fish I haven't kept. Yippee!
