I have a problem.. I have 3 (10" to 12") Oscars in my 125 Gallon tank. Looks great but they seem to all want to breed. I have seen everyone of them do the kissing fighting.. hovering over the flat rock and quivering.. Still no eggs. I have covered the tank thinking maybe I am watching to close.. THe temperture is at 82 degrees.. they are so fat from a diet of live food and pellets.. I am at a loss.. Could I possibly have 3 fish of the same sex and they just dont know it. THe two that seem to making the most.. um... "fishy love" today also have a little bubble protruding from their vent. I will try to download a pictures I took of the bubble and maybe one of you guys can tell me something I cant seem to figure out. Its seems to constantly be on there little minds and I am getting worried.. How long can this go on??? They are not doing serious damage to each other.. mostly lip locking and one or the other chasing the one that is not frisky today off. It varies the two albinos are acting frisky today.. yesterday it was the dark one and the biggest white one..

These fish have been together for almost 2 years.. They have never fought like this before. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem to you..... I have 2 10" albino oscars, they are my babies, and all my fish interests and aquarium set ups revolve around them. Infact I thought I'd solved any problem by getting a 7' x 2' x 2.5' tank.
I alway thought that they were the same sex, and its normal for them to clean slate, shimmy and have a little lip lock. 2 days ago they were going through the same routine...... and on closer inspection their genitals had changed. 1 now has its anal hole and a tube that slopes back towards its tail, and the other has the anal hole and a more prodominent tube that point downwards and is rounded (a bit like a nipple)
They are really hurting each other, violent lip locking, its horendous to watch. Other fish are getting knocked out of the way, they have scales missing...... I'd say on looking that they are now definate M and F.
I do know that they play act, and its a bit like puberty having to mature sexually. I also know they can do it up until they are 2 years old. I'm wondering if my normally placid babies are this time going to produce babies of there own.
I would'nt mind as a rule, but I move house in 2 weeks.......
