LOL.....Somebody STOP them !!

It's really cool and all, but I still have 2 tanks full of babies from the LAST time they did this ! Those are only about 7 weeks old...almost big enough to take to the local LFS for sale....

Gee, I'm glad these fish are soooo hard to breed ! I don't know what I would do if they were EASY ! :thud:

Sheesh, Emg, what are you worried about. Rams don't breed in your high pH, remember?

Good luck, and enjoy them! Oh, and enjoy the gobs of credit you'll get from the LFS!

Heck with the LFS, sell me a pair!

Lol....I seem to be blessed with a ..."blue/clear" ? thumb...(as opposed to the "green" thumb for gardeners).....For someone who didn't know squat about much of anything in the aquarium world only about a year ago...and hardly know much more now....I'm doing pretty well I think... :girl:

First time I tried breeding bettas I ended up with over 200 fry, and most of them ..almost all actually...survived ! (I haven't had the courage to do THAT again ever since !) These rams won't stop..lusty little things...lol....despite the fact that my perameters say they shouldn't even be able to survive for long, certainly not displaying the beautiful colors they are!

I Don't know what I'm doing right, but if I could bottle it and sell it on ebay or something, I think I would be set for life ! :joke:

I've yet to get any sellable fry, but was wondering whats fair market from the the petstore as far as credit goes. I know they mark up reptiles at least 100% so i'm assuming markup on fish is simmilar. Lets stay with blue rams as an example of a fish that is easy for them to move. Assume price is $10.00. How much does the petstore give you for 1in fry?

you could always get another female and name em Thelma and Louise!!!! :D

MooMan, I'm not sure what I could get for them in an LFS just yet. The larger they are when you bring them in, the more they will pay for them usually.

I had gone to one LFS and they didn't want them...too many problems with folks bringing in hybrids ...the other store I asked is more than happy to have them. I'll probably try to sell them via an add in a local paper first and see how I do. Not sure what I'll ask for them but in my area they are selling for around 6-10$ in the LFSs. I do have a few employees at these stores who are interested in purchasing from me when they are ready to go.

As far as shipping them....I have never shipped fish before and would not be able to guarentee what kind of shape they would be in when they got to you...I did look into that once when I had all those betta fry to get rid of...and the shipping was pretty expensive for overnight delivery.

I'm a bit edgy now....lol...we are going away for a week and I have a neighbor friend who will be taking care of my fish....hope I still have some babies when I get back...lol...
