Turbo snails and the lack of algae...

This is actually a two part question for the experts here, so here's part one:

I have a 75G FO tank with one piece (planning on adding more) live rock, wet/dry filter with a protein skimmer. I experienced a pretty bad algae bloom until my last water change. When the bloom was high, I added 6 turbo snails to help with the algae control. I did a 30 percent water change two weeks ago, carefully vacuuming the bottom and the algae, and my bloom subsided into basically nothing. My nitrate level dove correspondingly.

Now I'm worried that my snails will not have enough algae to sustain themselves. There IS a bit of algae on the skelatal coral that I have, but I'm concerned that the snails will not have what they need to survive.

....AND I can't believe I'm concerned about the lack of algae in so short of a time span! :D

Need I be concerned??

Well, if your worried your turbo's will eat nori and they like algae pellets to. I wouldn't worry too much. When you add your l.r. you'll more than likely find some more sence you'll have to get fully cured l.r. there won't be as much as there is on un-cured but, you can pretty much always count on some. Also it will depend on what sort of lighting you have and how long you run it etc.
I don't know if you're planning on buying rock over time or not but, if you are test the water it came in before you add it . If it has an ammonia level over about .5 ppm you'll want to treat as uncured. As the amount of rock you have in your tank goes up the more it will be able to handle fish waste etc. You won't need the bio-balls at all anymore if you add enough l.r. You don't have to buy all l.r. either you can use base rock or coral rubble and it will turn into l.r. over time.
;) next comes the halides, lol
