Hey, One of my inkfin calvus eyes is round kinda like a dome. The other eye is flat and all teh other calvuss in the tank dont have it either. Could it be some type of infection? Could it have to do with water quality? Or could it just be irritation from bumping into the rocks? Spent too much money on these fish to watch it die, please help if its serious.

unfortunatly, i cant help
but, id also like to know about this, as i just got one. I know they are sensetive to changes in water params/temperature
are they prone to this type of thing? i have heard they are susceptable to having their jaw pop out of place..

also, bowes - how much did your calvus cost?

I got a really good deal for my calvus fishies. I have 7 inkfins. I paid 30 for two that are sexually mature and $15 for 5 that will be sexually mature in a couple months. The biggest problem that I have found is thier tendency to jump. I have lost several juvinille whit calvus cause they jump out when i was feeding and moving rocks around. As for the jaw and eye problems, I ahvent run into any jaw problems and the eye thing is just on one of them. I think she might have scratched it on a rock cause it hasnt spread to any other fish. Make sure tehre is NO nitrite or amonia in the water, lost an inkfin pair to that stuff before.
