This is the gold barb that I posted about earlier having the sore on his side. The sore isn't deep, its as if his scales have been scraped off in a square about a quarter inch across. I took him out of the community tank to observe him, dosed with salt for three days to try and keep infection away, and now I'm just trying to wait for him to heal.

I also noticed that he had some loose skin on the top of his head, that has since healed, but he now has a small sore on his rear tail as well. He seems very stressed out. He stays at the bottom a lot, and when he swims, it is usually very erraticly. When he notices that I'm watching him, he takes off, usually slamming against a wall of the 5 gallon, then turning and slamming into another. He's done this enough that I'm pretty sure it is what has caused all of his sores. The side one maybe from hitting the heater at high speed when it was on?

I'm currious as to what is wrong with him. He is obviously in some pain right now, and after about a week, his origional injury still hasn't healed. I don't know exactly what "flashing" is, is that what it is? I've been looking closely for signs of some desease. He doesn't appear to have ich, and the sores are the only physical problem he has-- no bloating, stringy feces, infected gills, etc.

Any ideas?
