i have several tanks hear my large display tank a hospital tank for just in case and a curing tank for live rocks etc just added some newly cured live rock to my main display now i have some new insects( if you can call them that) they look like millapeeds there is no color markings on them yet there just clear any one know what they could be and when i turn the lights off on my tank i can see a lot of little things running around the live rock ... they must be some sort of invertebrates untill they get bigger they look like flies so its not much of a discription but its hard to get a good photo in a dark room .. they seem to hide during the day... anyone else seem to have gotten this life from live rock would be intrested to know ...

if the millapeed turns out to be a fire worm is there aything you have to feed them or do they look after them selves ...

sounds like bristleworms to me (I think a fireworm is a type of bristleworm). There's a debate on whether these are bad to have or not. Some say yea, some say nay.

I wouldn't put a second thought into caring for them. Let nature run it's course. They don't seem to be especially helpful, but if they aren't harmful, why bother getting rid? If you notice any coral that looks like it's been eaten on, you have a suspect.

Maybe bristleworms, but the little ones sound like they might be isopods, and the big ones like amphipods. Depends on the scale you're talking about. No matter what, they're generally harmless, and just scavenging. Adding more food will just increase the population, and may cause pollution problems.
